Decisions. Decisions. Tonight, both the Tomato Festival (4-7:30 pm) at MU Bradford Research Center and Art-i-Fact (4-8 pm), a gallery crawl of 10 venues on the MU campus (plus Columbia Art League reception near campus) are all going on!
Tomato Festival will have over 100 varieties of tomatoes, and both sweet and hot peppers to taste. In addition, salsa and tomato dishes from 14 local restaurants are available to taste/eat. They also provide milk in case you happen to get something too spicy for you! For growers, there will also be presentations, including tomato topics of heat-related problems and pest management. We recommend getting there as early as you can, before some of the samples run out. Thu Sep 6, 4-7:30 pm. Location: MU Bradford Research Center, 4968 Rangeline Rd, Columbia MO 65201-8973.
Mizzou Art-i-Fact, a museum and gallery crawl with 10 venues across the MU campus: Craft Studio, Bingham Gallery (Art Dept), McDougall Gallery (photojournalism), Museum of Art & Archeology, Museum of Anthropology, State Historical Society of Missouri Gallery, Missouri Historic Costume & Textile Collection, Laws Observatory, Enns Entomology Museum, and The Residence (Chancellor’s house). Thu Sep 6, 4-8 pm. Location: Visit site link Art-i-Fact for locations.
Bonus–The Columbia Art League, just south of the MU campus, has a reception tonight from 6-8 pm for their new House of Cards show–all the art is based on playing cards. Location: 207 S Ninth St, Columbia MO 65201-4817.
So…you have to decide; or…if you are feeling ambitious, hit Tomato Fest first, leave early and get to the MU campus. (We are actually going to try this!) We look forward to your comments about what you visit tonight and your experience.
