It is the first Friday of another month, and another First Friday art event tonight from 6-9 pm in the North Village Arts District (downtown—Walnut street from College to 9th and north to Rogers).
First Friday (FF) is a free gallery crawl when the North Village Arts District will collectively open its doors, encouraging residents, visitors, and tourists to explore and appreciate the ever-growing collections of art and entertainment that diversify and energize our community. Come explore the unique venues and enjoy the live music art and entertainment, and some venues will have light refreshments. A map/guide postcard will be available at the venues.
Participating Businesses:
◾Sager Braudis Gallery—The PS Gallery has officially changed names!—will have a vinyl DJ from Hitt Records and it will be the first First Friday as Sager Braudis Gallery. Reception for the Summer Exhibit.
◾Artlandish Gallery- Over 50 Artists works and live music by The Honey Biscuits and Uninvited Monkeys on Walnut Street and the Ukelele Fight Club, Paul Fostch, David Dearnley and Bliss Hippy! All on our new outdoor patio!
◾Talking Horse Productions will be celebrating the new lobby exhibit by Cathie Brooks, and we’ll offer tours of the theatre space! Refreshments for our guests will also be available. Hang around as we celebrate Ed’s 60th birthday with a dance party in the theater! Come join us! You might also pick up some information about “Mostly Sweet”, the next production that opens June 12.
◾Orr Street Studios – hosting the Collegiate Shag Brass Band on the patio– always a good time! and the CPS Art Teacher’s show is on display. Resident Arts will be hosting a closing exhibition for the After-school Teen Residency students. “Urban Shrine” by Sarah Goodnow Riley-Land continues to be on view.
◾Yoga Sol- Kirtan, Sing, Chant, move. Kirtan Chanting starts at 7:00 p.m. Relaxing, soulful way to start out the night.– 7-8 pm
◾ North Village Recording will have an open house mixing session in honor of my selection for Mix With The Masters! I will be picking select songs from the previous #NVAD First Fridays sessions we have done with Blake Gardner and the Farmers, Dangerfield, Dark Below, and My Twins! Watch the process of mixing a live recording! Free beverages and snacks as always!
◾Root Cellar -Since the parklet just moved to our block, Root Cellar will be doing a Picnic in the Parklet theme for June FF. We’ll have a couple different types of individual serving sized picnic baskets and a selection of beer singles for sale to help promote folks to stick around and hang out for First Friday.

Finding pure metaphysical euphoria within the depths of cassette recorders and guitar pedals, he enjoys the simple things in life such as playing music with friends and falling into existential voids.
